dokumentarfilmwoche hamburg
From April 14 to 18, 2010 the 7th dokumentarfilmwoche hamburg took place in the three Hamburg theaters 3001, Metropolis and Lichtmeß. In the last seven years, the festival has been showing short and feature documentary films from all over the world during one week.
Like in previous year, also in 2010 we announced an award sponsored by the Landeszentrale für politische Bildung. This year’s award, now named Klaus Wildenhahn Preis, is worth €2000 and will be given to a selected film from the direkt competition program. The competition program is open for documentary films dealing with politically relevant issues, taking into account the theory and aesthetics of documentary filmmaking.
The Klaus Wildenhahn Preis 2010 goes to The Day Of The Sparrow
Apart from the competition, a large general program offers highlights from international film festivals as well as non-mainstream documentary gems every year. We are a platform not only for big productions but also for small, non-compliant, experimental documentary films. Many of the films presented in the festival will possibly never be shown in public theaters in Hamburg!
